Congratulations to Dawn Jameson who was honored yesterday as the Wisconsin Educators of Business and Information Technology (WEBIT) Outstanding Educator of 2019.
Dawn teaches at both Wausau West and Wausau Area Virtual Education (WAVE). In both of these settings, Dawn has proven herself to be a dedicated, student-centered teacher who is continually looking for ways to develop as a professional and bring best practices into her classroom.
At WAVE, Dawn teaches a variety of courses, including Personal Finance, Entrepreneurship: Starting Your Own Business, Criminology, International Business, and others. In addition, Dawn took it upon herself to create the first virtual chapter of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) in the state of Wisconsin. Dawn is recognized as a pioneer in bringing FBLA to the virtual landscape.
Dawn's experiences as an entrepreneur add to her ability to share real-world learning with her students. Dawn and her husband have owned over 6 business in the Wausau/Merrill area, (bringing one of the first Subway restaurants into the state) and they have employed over 125 individuals.
We would like to thank Dawn for her commitment to students and for her desire to create learning opportunities for them. Dawn is a worthy recipient of this award.
